I love surfers.

I heart Kassia’s heart designs 🙂

Who said you needed to be bad-ass and only ride big waves to be a real hardcore SURFER??? If I’ve learned anything, it’s that surfers are actually one of the most chill and loving people on the planet. In order to enjoy what we do, we have to LOVE the beach, ocean, nature, our friends, ourselves, being in the moment and sharing that feeling with everyone. So yay, I think surfers who can pose with hearts are as bas-ass as bad-ass can get! ❤ Haha

Got to ask Bali’s Lee Wilson to pose with a heart in Thailand, ha ha

Lea sends some lovin’ from PARIS

Lea in front of l'arc de Triomphe in Paris, France

I used to be a group leader and chaperone to other Filipino exchange students to Europe (France, Spain, the UK). It’s fun although taking care of younger students and making sure they’re safe (and going to their classes) – while wanting to skip class and roam around myself – is not the easiest thing. Especially when you’re in another country. But once in a while, there are those ones that help you out and make you remember why you love being with people, especially those younger than you, and why you volunteer to do things like that.

Here’s Lea – a girl I went to the United Kingdom with. We took heart photos in London and Scotland together and she reminded me of myself when I was 16! She knew I was an exchange student to the US when I was in high school and told me that she wanted to do that herself. NOW, she is spending a year in the Netherlands as an exchange student and is traveling, meeting new people, learning a new language & spending the best time of her life!

One of the most heartwarming things anyone has ever told me was from her when said, “Thanks for being the inspiration to go on one of the greatest adventures of my life! Thanks  for being one of the greatest people I could look up to and be inspired. You were one of the key people who got me to want to go on gap year. :”) loveyouso!”

It’s kinda nice when somebody tells you that you’re made a difference in their life : )

So here are some photos from Lea during her trip to PARIS, France. She’s been sending me tons from Europe and will be sharing them eventually. xoxo

We heart the Philippines

The Philippines is an archipelago of 7,107 islands and although I’ve had my fair share of exploring these places, I still find that there is always something new to discover and love about this beautiful country that I live in! Mountains, white sand beaches, chocolate hills, smiling locals. There is definitely no place like home.  Here is a collection of photos and hearts from myself and my friends found in different places in the Philippine islands.

The beach, horses, elephants, pro surfers & lotsa hearts, Phuket, THAILAND

Who would have thought that Phuket, Thailand would have a lot of hearts? You really do find things where you least expect them. I just got back from a spontaneous trip to Thailand and I really didn’t think I would find THIS much hearts. But I did! What made find them a lot more fun was taking photos and posing with friends who were game to spread and give a little bit of lovin’ – even if they’re supposed to be cool professional surfers. ; )

So besides all the pad thai noodles, elephants, horses, beach, surf, and surf friends – all these hearts in Phuket made me heart this place more! Kob khun kha, Thailand! (I’m pretty sure I spelled that wrong!)

Sweetness from Singapore

Most of these photos come from my sister, Isabel. She went to Singapore for Valentines Day and I think that it was the best place to be to find hearts everywhere! It was really sweet of her to take photos of everything and give them to me. See, even if she and I fight and have our misunderstandings, I know that deep down she loves me!!! : ) Haha. Enjoy these photos from her and from a couple of other friends who went to Singapore as well.

Sharing the Surf Love

I believe that a surfer is a surfer – whether you hold 10 World Champion titles (aka Kelly Slater) or are a 5-year-old catching teeny tiny waves that just break near the shore. I’ve noticed that so many people these days are getting so caught up in riding the perfect barrel or catching the biggest wave or riding left-hand breakers that nobody else knows of. I admit that yes, those ARE cool, but at the end of the day (for me at least) surfing is about playing and dancing with the ocean, living and loving every second of it, and sharing that love and stoke with friends.

I just feel lucky and blessed that I do have those people that I can share my ocean heart with. As they say, the stoke is multiplied a hundred times if you’re sharing the awesome moments with your friends.

Read this in a surf magazine. So true!
